Chiang Mai, Thailand

I am in Chaing Mai, Thailand for my training right now. I am having a great time, meeting lots of new people. Everyone with VIA is great. I love that there's no "cool kids group". Everyone respects and wants to be friendly with everyone else.

The food here is wonderful so far, although I haven't had a chance to try too many fun things. The weather is very hot and humid. I am getting used to just being constantly sweaty. I understand why they shower several times a day!

The International Center where we are staying is very nice, much better than I expected. I share a room with only one other person and just the two of us share a bathroom. I thought we'd be in something more like dorms. The beds are really comfortable too, I've been sleeping great - There's even AC in the rooms!

Yesterday we had a scavenger hunt all around the city in order to get to know our way around. My team won so later we are going to get massages as a prize! Thai massages are supposed to be really good, so I'm excited. My feet are achy from all the walking!

There are mosquitoes, but not as bad as I expected. I have a few bites, but no monsters. The bug spray I bought seems to work pretty well.

Ok - here are some pictures, none of me yet, but I will take some with me soon:

This is from the plane leaving Taipei

This is the city wall

This is some of the volunteers playing in an exercise park near where we are staying.

This is a canal from the same park

This is in a nearby market

Also in the market

I am going to put some more pictures in a separate entry!
